Cardiff and Reading’s Premier League hopes hang in the balance as the sides are evenly posed after the first leg stalemate at the Madejski Stadium; they meet again in Wales on Tuesday night.
The first leg had limited chances and Cardiff would be the happier of the two sides as they know that a win at home will push them to the ultimate. The Welsh side’s likelihood of getting an away goal took a blow as star striker Craig Bellamy limped off in the first leg after 17 minutes, and it is any doubt for the return fixture as he has a hamstring injury. Dave Jones side were unlucky to not finish within the automatic promotion places, but will be confident of winning the tie in your own home.
Reading were the shape side starting the playoffs because the Madejski stadium side have experienced a great 2011 so far. The Royals will be disappointed not to win in your own home within the first leg, but knows that they have the firepower to score within the away leg. Irish forwards Shane Long and Noel Hunt have caried the majority of the goalscoring burden throughout the normal season, and Brendan Rodgers will hope his forwards might help them progress to the final.
